The TotalEnergies Feyzin refinery, one of France's most critical industrial sites, processes 5 million tons of crude oil annually. During scheduled shutdowns — involving up to 100 people over 5 weeks — every flange, valve, and pipe joint must be verified leak-free before restart, including the ~1,300 flanges in the Alkylation unit alone.
