Responsibilities for the Software Engineer job

About the role

The embedded software running on our Ultrasound cameras is at the core of Distran technology, with a strong focus on high performance and reliability. Together with the software team, you will help Distran build faster and more sophisticated devices, though simpler and more integrated for our users. In this role your responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop on the core program running on the cameras: performance optimization on ARM, modern C++, Linux distributions
  • Convert signal processing prototypes into high performance production code
  • Ensure the high reliability of the product
  • Develop ad hoc systems needed for process optimisation, automated testing or business functionalities
  • Participate to the team effort in code review, testing, documentation and tasks organization

    Your profile

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related
  • Three years or more experience in software development
  • Strong knowledge of modern C++
  • Good knowledge of Python
  • Linux command line tools
  • Interested in learning new technology stacks and working in a cross-functional environment
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
  • Optional qualifications:
    • UI, Web UI (QT, GStreamer, WebSocket, ClojureScript)
    • Messaging interfaces (zmq, MQTT)
    • Docker, DevOps
    • Embedded development (ARM, Buildroot, Yocto)
    • GPU (CUDA, OpenCL, OpenGL)
