Responsibilities for the Area Manager Middle East job


  • Open, develop and retain relationships with key accounts in the industry, in particular Oil and Gas, Chemicals and Power plants
  • Active sales acquisition with focus on opening, retaining and developing Key Accounts
  • Engage in prospecting, perform in-person presentations and on-site demos, help facilitate RFPs, and close accounts
  • Preparation of offers, general sales administration. Oversee all aspects of business operations, incl. maintaining budget, sales goals and general targets
  • Strategic development - develop a structured approach including operational plans to address the market (sectors, types of companies…), including supporting the existing distribution network but taking the lead on the actions
  • Evaluate, organize and attend conferences and exhibitions in the sales area
  • Plan, organize and implement marketing actions together with Head office within the area: White papers, journal publication, talks...
  • Preparation of offers, general sales administration
  • Keep up to date with competition in the sales area and prepare market analysis
  • Create and maintain customer information in CRM tools, track and ensure sales process according defined sale pipelines
  • Generate regular progress reports for upper management

Requirements for the Area Manager Middle East job


  • BSc or MSc Engineering degree (Technical/Instrumentation/Mechanical) or similar background with further education in Sales & Marketing preferred
  • Working experience in Oil & Gas preferably, exposure to Chemicals and/or Power Plants is also valued
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position in an SMB , or start-up environment, selling of CAPEX equipment, Non Destructive Testing (NDT) or similar goods like measuring devices
  • Experience in managing the local distributors in the Middle East
  • Proven ability to work under pressure including the ability to cope with deadlines, multiple tasks, and competing demands
  • Proven track records in Sales and Business Development including direct Major account sales and distributors in the territory in our target industries
  • Experience in Key Account Management, ability to handle key customers (Major Accounts) personally
  • Experience in developing existing and new Distribution networks
  • Ability to approach different client levels, doing presentations and making on-site technical demos and trainings
  • Excellent communicator, multi-tasking skills, able to build relationships
  • Persuasive, independent, at ease in developing trust and negotiations
  • Self-starter, autonomous
  • Enthusiastic about promoting Safety and Environment protection solutions
  • Leading skills, ability to lead, inspire and motivate a team, providing clear direction and constructive feedback
  • Language: fluent in English & Arabic (verbal and writing)
  • Good computer skills, familiar with CRM platforms
  • Residence in the UAE or Bahrain (will be discussed – please give us your opinion on it)
  • Willingness to travel in the Middle East (at least 50%)
  • Driving-license
