Due to strong growth in several territories and due to expansion in our customer base, we are looking for a colleague to join us as Application Engineer in Houston, Texas. The role will focus on maintaining and increasing customer satisfaction and experience with the Distran products in the after-sales process, by implementing an effective delivery of customer training and technical support

About the role

  • Ensure technical training programs fit the needs of the customers – discuss and understand customer’s detailed technical requirements, assess specific questions/ needs and adapt the necessary training delivery approach.
  • Organize and conduct internal product and application trainings to the sales organization, and distributors, either at customer’s site in the US, or remotely.
  • Provide assistance to Business Development team during the customers´ qualification stage and during demos.
  • Support in writing white papers and journal publications.
  • Organize, participate and deliver results from field test campaigns in the US.
  • Collect information about end-user applications, and develop new applications for our cameras if necessary.
  • Gather information collected at customer site about operational market intelligence.
  • Assure technical support to customers.

    Your profile

  • Graduated with a PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry or related is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in technical customer support is an advantage
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Technical training or teaching experience is highly desirable
  • Driven by helping others, customer focused and a problem solver
  • Composure, ability to deal with customer complaints in a diplomat way
  • Good organization skills and flexibility- ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with different priorities to cope with deadlines and competing demands
  • Fluent in English, Spanish would be a plus
  • Availability to travel approximatively 50% of the time
  • Driving license
