Responsibilities for the Application Engineer Zurich job

About the role

Due to strong growth in several territories and due to expansion in our customer base, we are looking for a colleague to join us as Application Engineer. The role will focus on maintain and increasing the customer satisfaction and experience with the Distran products in the after-sales process, by increasing our end-user application portfolio, and ensuring the best technical training programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Organize and conduct internal and external product trainings to customers, sales organization and distributors, either at customer’s site or remotely.
  • Ensure technical training programs fit the needs of the customers. Create or adapt the necessary training methods and materials depending on the end-user application.
  • Develop new training materials (presentations, manuals or videos) and further improve existing ones.
  • Managing technical documentation such as User Manuals, Start Guides or FAQ’s.
  • Organize and conduct internal product and application trainings to the sales organization, and distributors, either at customer’s site or remotely.
  • Support in writing white papers, journal publications, technical competitions, etc.
  • Organize, participate and deliver results from field test campaigns.
  • Collect information about end-user applications, and develop new applications for our cameras.
  • Gather information collected at customer site about product performance as well as operational market intelligence.
  • Assure technical support to customers.

    Your profile

  • Graduated with a Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, Chemistry or related. A PhD would be a strong plus.
  • Previous technical training or teaching experience
  • Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills. Previous technical and/or scientific publications are beneficial.
  • Previous experience in technical customer support is an advantage.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Great organization skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to interdisciplinary work across all levels, functions, and regions.
  • Driven by helping others, customer-focused and a problem solver.
  • Composed, can deal with customer complaints in a diplomat way.
  • Language: fluent in English (verbal and writing), other European languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel abroad approximatively 30% of the time.
